Department O – Open Livestock

ALL livestock is due on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. All animals entered in this section are required to have: Premise ID and Seasonal Pass from the Arizona Department of Agriculture and must present at the time of check-in/weigh-in. Each pass/certificate must have the specific exhibitors name listed on the pass/certificate for the animal(s) they intend to show.

  1. Morning feeding and initial verified stall cleaning will be completed by 9:00 a.m. each day and maintained throughout the day. All stalls will be randomly inspected by the department superintendent. The superintendent will immediately notify exhibitors of improper care and will need to be rectified in a timely manner. After the initial warning, if the stall has not been rectified with the corresponding superintendent, exhibitor will be charged a fee of $25.00 assessed to the exhibitor’s animal per pen per day. Any exhibitor who is fined will also still be required to clean their pen.
  2. The exhibitor is responsible for providing bedding, feeders and water containers. Water and electricity are available. If the animals are in concrete floor stalls, they must be stalled on bedding.
  3. Transportation, care and feeding will be the responsibility of the exhibitor.
  4. Animals showing evidence of disease and/or parasite infestation will be dismissed from the fairgrounds immediately.
  5. No dangerous or uncontrollable animals will be shown in the halter classes. They will be dismissed.
  6. All exhibitors are responsible for cleaning (raking/washing) out their pens when they check out. Any exhibitor who is not present or who has not made prior arrangements to have their stall cleaned, will be assessed a $100.00 fee.
  7. All exhibits MUST remain on the fairgrounds until check-out on Sunday, September 16th from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Ribbons and premiums will be forfeited if removed without approval by the superintendent.
  8. No animals from Department Q – Junior Livestock will be allowed to enter this section except Pee Wee Showmanship.
  9. No animals will be allowed to be advertised for sale or sold while on the fairgrounds.
  10. Entry Fee will be $5.00 per animal/entry. Except showmanship class.

Beef Cattle

  1. All breeds will be judged together. Animals may be entered in more than one class.
  2. Only divisions and classes listed in the premium book can be entered and judged.
  3. All beef cattle will be pen judged, except for halter cattle.
  4. Entry fee is $5.00 per animal/entry.

Division 2001 – Beef Cattle, pen judged

Division 2005 – Beef Halter Classes

Heifer, Prospect Steer, Showmanship

  1. All animals in this division must be tied in the show cattle stalls using a halter or neck rope.
  2. All animals in this division must be halter broke and safe for the exhibitor to handle.
  3. All breeds will be judged together, unless there are three or more entries per breed in the breeding heifers. Breeding heifers will be divided by age. Prospect steers will be divided by weight.
  4. Entry fee is $5.00 per animal/entry. Except Showmanship classes.

  5. Entry fee is $5.00 per animal/entry. Except Showmanship classes.

  2. All breeds will be judged together unless sufficient numbers to form a separate breed show.
  3. Crossbreeds are eligible.
  4. Exhibitors must show their own animals, unless they have two animals in the same class.
  5. Dairy goat exhibitors must show in whites, white shirt and white pants. Closed toe shoes are mandatory.
  6. Pet goats will show in their own confirmation class and be eligible for showmanship.
  7. No Bucks allowed
  8. Entry fee is $5.00 per animal/entry. Except Showmanship classes.

Division 2016 – Pack Goats

  1. Open to all Junior and Senior exhibitors who have goat projects, including Junior Livestock Market Goats.
  2. All goats must work on collars or halters and be controllable.
  3. Goats will execute a series of obstacles and are judged on how they navigate the obstacles, how well they behave and listen to their owners.
  4. Obstacles can consist of bridges, stairs, water obstacles, tunnels, logs and much more.
  5. Entry fee is $5.00 per animal/entry. Except Showmanship classes.
